“But everybody knows!”
Everybody used to know the Earth was flat too.
“But doctors!”
Up until a few years ago, every doctor in the world would tell you ulcers were caused by stress snd spicy food.
I admit I have trouble with the flattering part. But mainly it’s aversion to abuse. I’ve noticed people aren’t nice to me if I don’t look neat and together. It’s not just in my head, and it’s an easy way to make my life easier. Is that wrong? I”m not planning to go on a diet for it, but I won’t go out without my eyebrows done… that sort of thing.
It’s a completely reasonable choice to make and there are a lot of shades of grey here. I wrote about it here if it helps…https://danceswithfat.org/2013/09/12/flattering-and-fat-bodies/
Agree. I will “get looks” no matter what for being HUGE at 390, but I am not going to do ‘disheveled’. I know %37.6 of the “looks” I get are people thinking I am “over dressed for the location/time” or “kidding myself to think I “look good” wear nice clothes, perfume etc”. Bite me!.
These are perfect timing. I had a heart attack 3 weeks ago; there are those who think it is my own fault. BUT the doctors do not think they and they have told me NOT to go on any silly diets because weight loss diets don’t work, and put further strain on the heart when people regain the lost weight, plus usually more than they lost. I was stunned that they had grasped that – I had been expecting a lecture. However, other people will find out and will come out with all the fat phobic crap!
I hope your recover is going well! *HEALING MOJO*
I love these, and I know there will be situations where I could use them, so I should take a note of them because there’s no way I’ll remember them when the situation arises.
