As some people are celebrating holidays that include things like chocolate, candy, and feasts, I am seeing a ton of food shaming, food policing, and food moralizing. All of this is crap for the reasons I explain here, but I thought what I would do today is give you some options for response. Note, today’s responses are in pictures (mostly starring our adorable dogs – you can click on them to enlarge them) If you are looking for verbal responses, head over here.

You really do have adorable dogs.
I just spent the first holiday ever around one part of my extended family. This post made me SO grateful. Because the only thing anybody said about the food was (a) how good it was; (b) who made it; and (c) if there was any of it left. (Okay, and a discussion about whether or not my father eats cucumbers, but that was less food policing and more the segue into some random reminiscences.)
I miss having my dog so much. At least my daughter brought him when they moved me up to Oregon so I can see him when I visit their house.
Hi Ragen, I’m not sure how I came across your blog but I’m so glad I did. The fork meme gave me the chuckle I needed. I’ve only just started my own journey blogging (and resolving to quit diets for good) but maybe one day I’ll take you up on that offer to contribute. Thanks again for the liberating giggle!
Brilliant! And for gawd’s sake your furry buddies are cuuuuute!!!
