What I also find stunning is the incredible ignorance and hatred that some people have directed towards you (I looked at the hate mail page) and I am in awe of your ability to withstand it and stay so strong. What a lovely picture, full of emotion and movement.
I teach dance (Ballet/Jazz/Modern) to children in Toronto, and I’ve recently been looking up inspirational dance pictures to decorate the classroom. It was hard enough to find varied images of dancers of different ethnicities, but just about impossible to find any pictures of even slightly larger dancers in any Western dance forms. I want my students to have role models that they can identify with, and to feel happy and comfortable in their own bodies. I wish there were more photographs like this!
If you are comfortable with it, I would love to use this photo as one of the inspirational dance images in my classroom.
